The Magnificent Seven

The business world never stands still. If you’re in business, you’ll know that you need to be constantly thinking of how to promote your company and stay ahead of your competitors. With that in mind and drawing on over 25 years’ experience in the industry, we’ve put together our top tips on how to get your message out there effectively and within your budget.

1. Use the power of business cards Your business card might well be your most valuable piece of marketing and could be the first impression potential customers have of your business. Carry your business cards everywhere and make sure they include all your contact details, including your website and any social media pages. Remember, your card can be printed on both sides, so you’ve plenty of room for all your details. You can even use the rear to list a few key products or services.

2. Build your brand How strong is your brand? Is it consistent across all of your print and online marketing? Will people recognise it and associate it with your company? Be sure your brand is strong and consistent. Also, ask yourself if your brand sends out the right message for your business. If the answer isn’t a resounding “Yes” then it’s time for a rebrand!

3. Offer deals and freebies Everyone loves free stuff. Whether you send a small gift with a first purchase, offer free time as part of a deal or run special “two-for-one” type promotions, you’ll find that any special offer or free gift helps build customer loyalty and increase your sales.

4. Send out your company brochure Design your own company brochure, branded with your logo and business details. You can also include photos that are relevant to what you do. A brochure shows you’re willing to invest in your customers and conveys a credible company with dependable business practices. Customers want to see evidence of this before they do business with a company.

5. Use community boards Local shops, supermarkets, community centres and leisure centres often have notice boards. Often, they’ll be happy to let you advertise your business cards, flyers and leaflets. We print flyers, leaflets and other marketing for our customers in a huge range of sizes, so have a look at our website – you’ll be sure to find something that suits your needs.

6. Use your family and friends You have a ready-made sales team of friends and family members. Give them some business cards and ask them to mention you to their friends or contacts. Word of mouth and personal recommendations are really effective ways to get new business.

7. Listen to your customers Customer feedback is extremely helpful to your business. Find out how your customers feel about your service and products. Even problems or complaints can be turned into positives if dealt with quickly and to the customer’s satisfaction.
